Cell Phone and Electronic Device Policy

Under the updated Chancellor’s Regulation A-413, effective beginning in the 2025–26 school year, students in New York City public schools are not permitted to use personal internet-enabled electronic devices during the school day. 

This includes:

• Smartphones
• Smart watches
• Tablets with internet capability
• iPads
• Laptops with internet access
• Gaming devices with internet connectivity
• Any electronic device capable of connecting to the internet
